Where would it be?
North Garland Baptist Fellowship is offering to sell 2 acres along Muirfielat N. Garland Rd.

What would it be?
A local Landscape Architect and Design firm is volunteering to prepare a feasibility analysis and initial concept.

A feasibility plan will be presented to the HOA when completed. Possibly in the winter of 2009.

How would it be paid for?
The feasibility study will help with an estimate for the costs involved.
Possible Sources of funds include HOA dues, special assessments, grants from other organizations, matching funds from the City of Garland for Neighborhood Development, naming rights, Property Improvement District established by local subdivision voters, donations.

What is an estimate for the cost?   Initial estimates are in the range of $29 to $50 per household per year. Better estimates are expected after the feasibility study is finished.

Other ideas:
Avoid parking to promote the community nature. Use Texas native plants to minimize operating costs. Include an open area for community gatherings and sponsored events. Include park benches and garden settings for quiet reflection. Consider an exercise labyrinth or a reflective labyrinth. Install a wind turbine to pay for electricity used for lights and sprinkler system along Muirfield.
