Firewheel Farms Golf and Recreation
Golf is a popular pastime located at Firewheel Golf Course operated by the City of Garland. Firewheel features three unique and challenging courses. The Branding Iron restaurant is open daily and offers a wonderful country club style of ambience for golfers and residents and also offers catering and room rental . Youth and adult recreation and sport programs are sponsored by the Garland YMCA. The Garland Soccer Association sponsors nearly year round youth soccer for boys and girls. Garland Baseball sponsors leagues for ages 5 to 18. The city of Garland lists numerous athletic associations for all ages . Family Fishing sponsored by Garland Bass Club Garland City Swimming Pools and Garland City Parks and Recreation Facilities The ASI Gymnastics is within walking distance and offers educational and competitive programs. Hawiian Falls Amusement park (Water Park) is 3 miles South on Garland Road. Equestrian Programs for youth at the Windmill Stables of Spring Park and the Merriwood Ranch near Jupiter and Campbell Rd. Numerous opportunities for camping, fishing and boating are found nearby at Lake Lavon, and Lake Ray Hubbard. Nearby parks for families, large gatherings, youth sports and picnics include the Breckenridge Park and the 101 Ranch on Brand Road. The Garland Public Shooting Range provides ranges for handguns, rifles and shotguns. |
